Hurricanes' Martin Necas Is NHL's Most Popular Trade Target

The Carolina Hurricanes are expected to move forward Martin Necas this offseason. He has been put on the market by the Metropolitan Division club, and there is already a plethora of interest in him right now.

According to The Fourth Period, the Montreal Canadiens, Calgary Flames, Philadelphia Flyers, Nashville Predators, Boston Bruins, Vancouver Canucks, Winnipeg Jets, Buffalo Sabres, Chicago Blackhawks, and Utah are all linked to Necas.

When looking at this group of clubs interested in Necas, they certainly vary in skill. Teams like the Canadiens, Flames, Flyers, Kraken, Sabres, Blackhawks, and Utah did not make the playoffs last year. When noting that Necas is just entering his prime, he is exactly the kind of player that these rising clubs should look to bring in.

As for the Bruins, Canucks, Jets, and Predators, they are all teams that made the playoffs this year and are looking to be even better next season. Thus, adding a player like Necas to their top six would make sense for them as well.

Necas, 25, appeared in 77 games this season with the Hurricanes, where he had 24 goals to go along with 53 points.

It will be intriguing to see if any of these teams land Necas this offseason from here.
