Kings Rumors: Arthur Kaliyev Linked to Atlantic Team

The Los Angeles Kings are preparing for what will be a busy offseason. After a short playoff run, it is apparent that they will need to make some changes to their group. One player who is expected to be moved is Arthur Kaliyev, as he has asked for a change of scenery.

Kaliyev is a young forward with good upside, so he is generating interest even after his rough 2023-24 season. One specific club that reportedly has the skilled winger on their radar is the Montreal Canadiens.

The Canadiens' interest in Kaliyev is understandable, as they are a rebuilding team in a prime position to take a shot at a promising youngster like Kaliyev. On the Canadiens, he would have far more chances to succeed, too, as their forward depth is not as strong as the Kings'.

Kaliyev would be a solid addition to the Canadiens' middle six if acquired. In addition, he would also be a clear candidate for their power play because of his scoring touch and size.

Kaliyev, 22, played in 51 games this season with the Kings, where he had seven goals to go along with 15 points and a minus-3 rating. It was a hard year for the 2019 second-round pick, but when noting that he had 28 points in 56 games just back in 2022-23, he has the potential to get back on track.

Let's see if the Canadiens end up landing Kaliyev during this offseason from here.
