Kings Rumors: Viktor Arvidsson Linked to Oilers

Viktor Arvidsson is an intriguing free agent heading into July 1. The skilled winger missed the majority of this season due to injury trouble but played well when healthy. As a result of this and his past success, he is expected to have a pretty large market if the Kings do not re-sign him.

It appears that one of the Kings' biggest rivals may have an interest in Arvidsson. NHL insider Frank Seravalli recently mentioned that he believes the Edmonton Oilers "have certainly kept him [Arvidsson] on their radar."

It would make sense for the Oilers to take a shot on Arvidsson. When looking at their group, he looks like he would be a good fit. It is not a secret that the Oilers could use another right winger in their middle six, and Arvidsson would provide them with that.

It is also important to note that Arvidsson could be open to a short-term contract in free agency. After missing a significant portion of the year, his value is likely a bit lower than normal. Thus, if the chance to play in Edmonton on a short-term was presented, he could be open to it. His production would likely go up playing with superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.

We will need to wait and see if the Oilers end up landing Arvidsson this offseason, but first, their goal is to successfully reverse sweep the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final.
