NHL Trade Rumors: Blue Jackets & Flyers Discussed Blockbuster Trade
According to Elliotte Friedman via 32 Thoughts, he could see the Columbus Blue Jackets being open to moving their #4 overall pick at the 2024 NHL Draft in Las Vegas.
The Blue Jackets also have Patrik Laine who they are involved in trade talks about as the Finnish forward has asked for a change of scenery. The Blue Jackets reportedly aren't interested in solely a future focused return and would like to make 'hockey trades' on both, as they look to take a jump forward in their rebuild next season.
Pierre LeBrun of TSN also confirmed the Flyers and Blue Jackets have held discussions and the deal was going to involve multiple first-round picks being in play.
LeBrun on Insider Trading: "What we're being told is the Flyers made a pretty aggressive pitch to the Blue Jackets on Wednesday offering a swap of 1st RD picks also a roster player also perhaps next year's 1st RD pick part of a package to try and get the 4th overall pick"

One interesting player who could be involved between the Flyers and Blue Jackets is Johnny Gaudreau. Many people felt Gaudreau would sign with the Flyers a few years back and now could eventually be landing in Philly.
Columbus has $21.6 million in cap space and while they don't appear to be a free-agent destination for many players as they aren't the most appealing team at the moment. They do however, appear to be engraved in several trade conversations and look for the Blue Jackets to make a splash throughout NHL Draft weekend.
