Predators Rumors: 2 Main Suitors for Juuse Saros Emerge

The Nashville Predators have a big decision to make with star goalie Juuse Saros. He is entering the final season of his deal, and he is too valuable of an asset to potentially lose for nothing through free agency next summer. In addition, they have prospect goaltender Yaroslav Askarov who is expected to be the future.

Because of this, Saros has been generating interest around the NHL as a trade candidate. According to The Fourth Period, the two main suitors for Saros at this juncture are the Los Angeles Kings and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Kings desperately need a true No. 1 goalie if they hope to become a bigger threat in the Western Conference. They are expected to move on from free agent Cam Talbot, especially with how the playoffs went. Saros would give them a true star between the pipes and give them some stability in a position that has needed it for quite some.

As for the Maple Leafs, they have been connected to Saros since this past season. The Maple Leafs are gearing up to move on from Ilya Samsonov, while Martin Jones and Matt Murray also have expired deals. Thus, the Maple Leafs are in a prime position to bring in a true starter, and Saros would give them that. It would also take away some pressure from Joseph Woll to be the guy.

We will need to wait and see if either the Kings or Leafs can land Saros this summer from here.
