Rangers Rumors: 2 Forwards on Team’s Radar

The New York Rangers are expected to look to add to the forward group this offseason. It is not a secret that they could use a boost on the wing, so they are very likely to browse the free agent market for them this summer.

Because of this, in a recent article for The Athletic, Peter Baugh listed Tyler Toffoli and Max Pacioretty as two forwards who the Rangers could target this offseason.

Baugh noted that the Rangers pursued Toffoli at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, but a deal did not come to fruition. However, with Toffoli gearing up to test the market, the Rangers will get another chance to bring him to New York. If signed, he would be an outstanding addition to their top six. It is no secret that they have needed some help at right wing for a while now.

Baugh also mentioned that the Rangers were in on Pacioretty before the veteran forward elected to finish this past season with the Washington Capitals. While Pacioretty would not be as big of a splash as Toffoli, he would still have the potential to be a solid middle-six forward for their group. He also could see his offense go back up playing on a much more talented Rangers club.

We will need to wait and see if the Rangers end up landing either one of these two this offseason from here.
