Rangers Rumors: 3 Offseason Suitors for Erik Gustafsson

The New York Rangers' 2023-24 season came to an end on Saturday, as the Original Six club fell to the Florida Panthers in Game 6. After being the NHL's top regular-season team, they couldn't get it done in the playoffs, and now they have some decisions to make this summer. One player who might not be back is free agent Erik Gustafsson. Let's go over three teams who could look to add him now.

New York Islanders: The New York Islanders could look at a player like Gustafsson in free agency. They could use more offense from the point, and Gustafsson provides that. In addition, he would be a nice quarterback for their second power play unit because of his passing ability.

Washington Capitals: A reunion between Gustafsson and the Washington Capitals could be interesting. He had one of the best seasons of his career while with the Capitals, and they still have several players from that roster. On an affordable deal, he would be worth taking another shot on.

Florida Panthers: The Panthers could look to add an offensive defenseman to their roster this summer if they can't bring back Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Gustafsson would be a nice bargain addition for their third pairing in this scenario.
