Sharks Rumors: Mario Ferraro Trade Talk Heating Up

The San Jose Sharks are preparing for what should be a busy offseason. The rebuilding Pacific Division club is likely to make several moves this offseason as they look to improve upon their future.

According to The Fourth Period's David Pagnottanull, the Sharks are willing to trade defenseman Mario Ferraro, and the left-shot defenseman is generating plenty of interest around the NHL.

This is not Ferraro's first time in the rumor mill, as he was talked about a lot during the regular season. Several teams have expressed interest in Ferraro in the past, so it is not shocking in the slightest that chatter surrounding him is once again picking up.

When it comes to specific teams expected to be in the mix for Ferraro, Pagnotta noted that the Toronto Maple Leafs, Nashville Predators, Calgary Flames, Carolina Hurricanes, and Chicago Blackhawks are all believed to be interested in the Sharks defender.

Given how Ferraro plays top-pairing minutes and is still just 25 years old, there is no question that the Sharks will expect a lot in any potential trade centering around him. It will be intriguing to see what happens with the Toronto native and if a team out there is willing to pay a lot to get him from here.

In 78 games this season with the Sharks, Ferraro had three goals to go along with 21 points.
