TRADE: Capitals Acquire Logan Thompson From Golden Knights
Just days after the Washington Capitals traded goalie Darcy Kuemper to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Pierre-Luc Dubois, Washington went out and acquired his replacement in Logan Thompson from the Vegas Golden Knights. The Capitals sent back a 2024 third-round pick and a 2025 third-round pick.

The Capitals are now set in net and so much of the load doesn't have to be on Charlie Lindgren who almost single-handedly pulled the Capitals into the playoffs. Thompson went 25-14-5 in 2023-24 with a 2.70 GAA, .908 SV%, and one shutout. When healthy, Adin Hill proved to be the go-to goalie and starter in Vegas.
The Capitals have been making some solid moves to stay competitive, but at the very least should be set in goal moving forward after this trade.
