3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations for Daniel Sprong

Day two is off and running for the 2024 NHL offseason and after over a billion dollars was spent in day one, there's still plenty of talented players who don't yet have contracts for next season.

Daniel Sprong is among the most talented without a deal. The 27-year-old versatile winger spent last season with the Detroit Red Wings where he posted 18 goals and 43 points in 76 games. Here's where he could be winding up this summer:

Anaheim Ducks

While the Ducks are rebuilding and haven't signed any free agents so far, they do need to add a couple of veterans to help push their young core next season. Sprong has shown the past two seasons he can score and could easily slide into the Ducks top six. They have over $8 million in cap space and it's not even going to take half to get Sprong signed on the dotted line for next season.

St. Louis Blues

The Blues have $15.2 million in cap space after day one of free agency and are in need for some secondary scoring. Sprong can score and his versatility to play either wing could be something that appeals to the Blues. St Louis is reportedly trying to trade a veteran defenseman and once that is in order, could be circling back to the free-agent market including Sprong. They could his use offensive production.

Los Angeles Kings

The Kings are going to look a lot different next season as GM Rob Blake tries to get his team back on track. With losing Viktor Arvidsson to the Edmonton Oilers, the Kings have a hole to fill at right wing. Sprong could be a viable replacement for Arvidsson's production and a cheaper cost.
