3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations for Nick Cousins
While a lot of players don't like playing against Nick Cousins, the former Florida Panthers forward is someone a lot of teams would like to play with. Cousins is an agitator, he's a fourth-line grinder and he's been in the middle of a lot of scrums the past few seasons.
While the Panthers may circle back and get a deal done with Cousins, there's also a chance he signs elsewhere, including with one of these three teams:
San Jose Sharks
The Sharks have shown they're open to adding veterans and Mike Grier needs to fill out his bottom-six with some experience. Cousins hits everything that moves, he's not afraid to stick up for teammates so he could be a solid security blanket for the Sharks young core.
Washington Capitals
The Capitals have been busy this summer re-tooling on the fly and Cousins would give them some more snarl and depth up front. After making $1.1 million last season, the 30-year-old forward could come in at a very similar number in Washington. The Caps have to work out some LTIR 'issues', however could still fit Cousins in this offseason.
New Jersey Devils
Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald has given his team a new look heading into next season as he complained about his team being too vanilla at the end of last season. Cousins is very familiar with new head coach Sheldon Keefe and there could be a reunion coming this summer.
