3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations for Alexander Barabanov

Alexander Barabanov is still looking for a new home at the time of this writing. While he had a down year with the San Jose Sharks, it is still possible that he could land a one-year, prove-it deal before the start of the season. Let’s discuss three teams who could look to sign him now.

Pittsburgh Penguins: The Pittsburgh Penguins will likely look to add to their forward depth before the start of the season. It is not a secret that they could use some help in their bottom six, and Barabanov would have the potential to give them that if he bounces back. Thus, it could be an avenue the Penguins explore.

Tampa Bay Lightning: The Tampa Bay Lightning were one of the clubs rumored to be interested in Barabanov before the trade deadline passed. When looking at their roster, it is apparent that they could use another winger in their top nine before the campaign starts, so a player like Barabanov could make sense for them now.

Minnesota Wild: The Minnesota Wild could also use another forward on their roster. If Barabanov bounced back, he would be a solid addition to their third line and would also be an option for their second power-play unit.
