3 Potential Trade Destinations for Rangers’ Kaapo Kakko
The New York Rangers have been listening to offers for forward Kaapo Kakko since before the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline passed, and rumors surrounding the skilled forward have only intensified because of it. Due to this, let’s discuss three teams who could look to acquire him before the start of the season from here.
Minnesota Wild: The Minnesota Wild could look to add another forward to their top nine this offseason. When looking at their current roster, it is clear that they could use a bit more production, and Kakko could give them that if he takes that next step in his development.
Calgary Flames: The Calgary Flames are retooling, so they are in a position to take a chance on a former top prospect like Kakko. Kakko would have a real shot of playing top-six minutes if acquired by the Flames. In addition, if he broke out for the Flames, he could be a long-term answer for them as they continue to build up their club.
Buffalo Sabres: The Buffalo Sabres have been connected to Kakko since the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, and it would not be surprising if they went for him. It is no secret that they could use another winger before the start of the season. In addition, he would fit in nicely with the club's younger core.
