3 Potential Trade Destinations for Canadiens' David Savard
Montreal Canadiens defenseman David Savard has been a popular name in the rumor mill for quite some time. There is no question that he would be a notable addition for any teams looking to improve the right side of their defense. Because of this, let's go over three teams who could look to acquire him now.
Dallas Stars: The Dallas Stars are certainly a club to watch when it comes to Savard. They have been connected to him in the past, and their right side is an area that needs improvement. If they added Savard, he would give their top four an upgrade and would be an important piece of their penalty kill.
Winnipeg Jets: The Winnipeg Jets have expressed interest in Savard as well, so they should absolutely be watched. Savard would be a solid addition to their second or third pairing and would give them a bit more bite on the backend. Savard also has no trade protection, so he could be an ideal target for the Jets.
Detroit Red Wings: The Detroit Red Wings are clearly looking for help on their right side, as they were in the mix for Jacob Trouba for much of this offseason. Because of this, Savard could be a nice Plan B for them. He would fit into their top four and certainly be an upgrade to what they have now on their right side.
