Bruins Rumors: Analyst Predicts Jeremy Swayman's Next Contract

NHL analyst Dan Rosen has projected that Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman could secure a substantial contract in his upcoming deal, as expected.

Rosen anticipates that the young netminder might command a salary around $9 million annually, with the exact figure depending on the contract's length.

If Swayman seeks a longer-term deal, such as eight years, the annual value could dip slightly below $9 million. Conversely, a shorter-term agreement, like five years, could see his annual salary push toward $10 million.

At 25 years old, Swayman is in a unique position as a restricted free agent with significant accomplishments already under his belt.

He has firmly established himself as one of the NHL's top goaltenders, boasting impressive statistics including 79 wins, a 2.34 goals-against average, a .919 save percentage, and 12 shutouts in 132 NHL games.

Comparisons to contracts signed by similar elite goalies, such as Juuse Saros, Connor Hellebuyck, Thatcher Demko, and Andrei Vasilevskiy, indicate that Swayman's upcoming deal will likely be substantial, especially given the rising salary cap.

The ongoing negotiations between the Bruins and Swayman are focused on balancing term and financial aspects to reach a mutually beneficial agreement.

Despite the complexities, both sides have plenty of time to finalize the contract before training camp begins.
