Calgary Flames Re-Sign Top Goalie Prospect Dustin Wolf

The Calgary Flames have made a notable move, as they have re-signed top goalie prospect Dustin Wolf to a two-year, $1.7 million contract.

The first year of Wolf's new contract is two-way, so he will make $850,000 at the NHL level and $275,000 at the AHL level. However, in 2025-26, it will transition to a one-way deal, and he will make $850,000 whether with the Flames or in the AHL.

With the Flames trading Jacob Markstrom to the New Jersey Devils this offseason, Wolf is expected to be on their NHL roster at the start of the season. The promising youngster will form a goalie tandem with Dan Vladar.

Wolf appeared in a career-high 17 games with the Flames last season, where he posted a 7-7-1 record, a .893 save percentage, and a 3.16 goals-against average. Down in the AHL with the Calgary Wranglers, he sported a 20-12-3 record, a .922 SV%, and a 2.45 GAA.

Wolf has been nothing but dominant down in the AHL, and he has the tools to translate his excellent play to the NHL as he continues to adjust to the sport's most competitive league. Next season will be a big test for him, as he has a real shot of being the Flames' starting goalie.

It will be very interesting to see how Wolf performs during his new contract with the Flames from here.
