Forward Jack Drury Re-Signs with Hurricanes on Multi-Year Deal
The Carolina Hurricanes got another piece of business done today, re-signing 24-year-old restricted free agent Jack Drury to a new two-year deal with a $1.725 million AAV. He earned the raise from the $925,000 annual paycheck he got on his just-expired entry-level deal, by having a breakout year as a regular for the first time.

Drury played 74 games this season, averaging 12:17 of ice time per night, registering eight goals and 27 points along with a plus/minus rating of +4, and added one goal and five points in 11 postseason games.
The former second-round pick (42nd overall, 2018 Draft) upped his defensive game this season and won over 50% of his faceoffs. Head coach Rod Brind'Amour has called him the perfect Hurricane type of player.
With this move, combined with the termination of the final year of Evgeny Kuznetsov's contract, made official today ($3.9M), PuckPedia reports that the Hurricanes now have $13.9M in Projected Cap Space with 21 active players.
Two other restricted free agents, far more crucial to the Canes, Martin Necas and Seth Jarvis, remain unsigned.
