Maple Leafs Sign RFA Connor Dewar to New Contract

The Toronto Maple Leafs acquired Connor Dewar to be a fourth-line checking forward, and he delivered well enough to earn himself a new deal in restricted free agency.

The Leafs have signed Dewar to a one-year, $1.18 million deal, avoiding arbitration.

Dewar played 17 regular season games for Toronto after being acquired at the trade deadline from the Minnesota Wild for prospect Dmitry Ovchinnikov and a draft pick, and recorded five points, playing just under 13 minutes per game. He also added 29 hits in those 17 contests. Overall on the season, including his time with the Minnesota , he recorded 11 goals and 8 assists in 74 games.

Overall, the 24-year-old has had 19 goals and 43 points in 190 career NHL games across three seasons.

Nick Robertson remains the notable RFA still unsigned by the Leafs. He has expressed his unhappiness with his role in the organization and has asked for a trade. It doesn't seem that the team is willing to oblige, however.
