New York Rangers Re-Sign Ryan Lindgren

The New York Rangers have re-signed defenseman Ryan Lindgren to a one-year, $4.5 million contract.

Lindgren and the Rangers were set to have an arbitration meeting later this week, but they have now avoided it by getting this new contract finalized. Lindgren was also the last restricted free agent left who could have made it to arbitration.

Lindgren, 26, appeared in 76 games this past season with the Rangers, where he had three goals to go along with 17 points ,114 hits, and a plus-22 rating. Overall, it was another solid year for the left-shot defenseman, and he has now earned this nice raise because of it.

There were reports that the Rangers and Lindgren were talking a long-term deal, but they have now settled for this one-year, prove-it deal. Lindgren will look to have a big season with the Rangers in 2024-25, as it will help his chances of landing a bigger contract for his next deal.

Lindgren is a key part of the Rangers' blueline, so it is good that they have gotten him signed, even if it is just for this upcoming season. It will now be interesting to see what kind of season he can put together for the Rangers from here.
