NHL Rumors: 3 Landing Spots For James van Riemsdyk

Erik Beaston of Bleacher Report has identified three potential landing spots for veteran forward James van Riemsdyk: the Columbus Blue Jackets, San Jose Sharks, and Chicago Blackhawks.

After a season with the Boston Bruins that saw him start strong but ultimately finish with 38 points due to a mid-season slump and illness, as noted by Beaston, van Riemsdyk is now exploring options in free agency.

Known for his excellent passing and ability to provide depth at the wing position, he remains a valuable asset for teams looking to rebuild and add veteran presence.

The Blue Jackets, Sharks, and Blackhawks, all in various stages of rebuilding, could greatly benefit from van Riemsdyk's experience and playmaking abilities.

Over the past three seasons, the 35-year-old has recorded 47 goals and 58 assists for 105 total points across 214 games played.

While he might have initially sought to join a contending team, the flurry of signings on the first day of free agency means his best opportunities now lie with these rebuilding franchises.

Over his 15-year career, van Riemsdyk has amassed 311 goals and 318 assists for 629 total points across 1,011 games played.
