NHL Rumors: Pacific Division Team Linked To Tyson Barrie

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report has predicted that defenseman Tyson Barrie will land with the San Jose Sharks this offseason.

Barrie, a three-time All-Star, experienced a diminished role with the Nashville Predators last season and was at the center of trade rumors before the deadline.

Although he remained with Nashville, a reunion appears unlikely due to the emergence of younger players.

Despite his reduced role, Barrie remains a valuable asset, particularly for his offensive contributions and power-play capabilities.

Last season, the 32-year-old recorded one goal, 15 total points, a -10 plus/minus rating, 47 blocked shots, and 14 hits across 41 games played.

The San Jose Sharks, who struggled offensively last season and have $12.8 million in cap space, could greatly benefit from Barrie's experience and skill set.

Knox believes that Barrie’s scoring ability from the blue line would provide the Sharks with the ancillary scoring option they need.

His addition would address San Jose's need for depth and a stronger power play, making Barrie a logical and impactful acquisition for the team.

Over his 13-year career, Barrie's amassed 109 goals, 505 total points, a -75 plus/minus rating, 857 blocked shots, and 496 hits across 809 games played.
