NHL Trade Rumors: 3 Landing Spots For Tristan Jarry
As the Pittsburgh Penguins evaluate their goaltending options for the 2024-25 season, trading Tristan Jarry could be a very possible move.
With Jarry's $5.375 million contract and promising prospect Joel Blomqvist ready to step up, moving Jarry could free up valuable salary-cap space and address other team needs.
Adam Gretz of Bleacher Report identifies three potential trade destinations: the Chicago Blackhawks, Edmonton Oilers, and Utah Hockey Club.

The Chicago Blackhawks, despite having veterans Petr Mrázek and Laurent Brossoit, could benefit from Jarry's stability in goal.
With significant offseason additions like Teuvo Teravainen and Tyler Bertuzzi, and the development of star Connor Bedard, the Blackhawks are looking to accelerate their rebuild. Jarry would provide a more consistent presence in net, solidifying their goaltending situation, as noted by Gretz.
This season, the 28-year-old Jarry posted a .903 SV%, 2.91 GAA, with a league-leading six shutouts, and a 19-25-5 record over 51 games played.
Similarly, the Edmonton Oilers, who have long struggled with goaltending consistency, could find a reliable partner for Stuart Skinner in Jarry.

This pairing could create a dependable platoon, crucial for a team aiming to maximize the prime years of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
Lastly, the Utah Hockey Club, rebranded from the Arizona Coyotes, has revamped its defense and could significantly benefit from Jarry's experience.
With nearly $10 million in salary-cap space, Utah can easily accommodate Jarry's contract, providing a dependable option in net to support their improved defense and promising forward group, Gretz points out.
Over the last five seasons, Jarry has compiled a solid .912 SV%, 2.68 GAA, with 17 shutouts, and a 122-77-22 record across 228 games played.
These potential trade scenarios offer the Penguins an opportunity to strengthen their roster while giving Jarry a fresh start.
