NHL Trade Rumors: 3 Philadelphia Flyers Trade Candidates

The Philadelphia Flyers have completed most of their heavy lifting this offseason, however don't count out GM Daniel Briere from making a couple of moves before training camp.

The Flyers have a number of players who are prime trade candidates and depending on how things shake up during the later stages of the summer and into the opening month of next season, Briere could be very busy on the trade market.

Here's three Flyers to keep an eye on, who could very well be eventually dealt from Philly:

Morgan Frost

A layup to start, Frost wants out and has no interest in playing for John Tortorella. The former first-rounder has been linked to a trade for almost a full year now. He has one season left on his current deal at $2.1 million and is a pending restricted free-agent at season's end. Frost was in and out of the lineup last season and struggled to find a consistent role under Torts. He finished the year with 41 points in 71 games and expect to see a move announced before the start of next season.

Travis Konecny

Konecny was eligible to sign a long-term extension with the Flyers on July 1 and so far it's been crickets. The lack of talks is leading many to believe Konecny is going to be a trade chip for the 2024-25 season. The rugged winger is a solid two-way force who will be one of the best free agents available next summer. In 2023-24, Konecny recorded 68 points in 76 games and is owed $5.5 million against the cap next season. He does not have any trade protection and can be moved at will. Keep an eye on the Calgary Flames next summer.

Ryan Johansen

Not many know what's actually going on with Johansen and his health, but from all accounts playing for John Tortorella doesn't appear to be in the cards. Johansen has one season left on his deal at $4 million against the Flyers' books and look for some news to shape up sometime in August on Johansen's future with the team.
