There was plenty of chatter about the Flyers and Konecny discussing a new deal, and now it has come to fruition. With this, Konecny will continue to be a massive part of the Flyers' roster as they look to move past their rebuilding stage.
Konecny, 27, is coming off a spectacular 2023-24 season, as he posted new career highs with 33 goals to go along with 68 points. In addition, he made an impact with his gritty style of play, as he posted 90 hits.
Given Konecny's strong play over the years, it is understandable that the Flyers worked hard to keep him around. Now, he will be a long-term part of their core, and the Flyers do not need to worry about the prospect of him walking anymore.
