Top 5 Favorites Emerge in Early 2024-25 Stanley Cup Odds

Now that most of the heavy lifting has been done in free agency, it's time to assess where contenders stand as far as looking at Stanley Cup championship odds for next season.

FanDuel's latest betting odds feature two big movers and shakers in the Top 10. We'll start with the top five favorites to take home the Cup in 2025:

Edmonton Oilers +850
Florida Panthers + 950
Dallas Stars +1000
New Jersey Devils +1100
Colorado Avalanche +1100

The two finalists from last month take up the top two spots, with the runner-up Oilers now the favorite to get over the hump next season, at +850. The Cup champs, the Panthers, are at +950. Just behind them are the Western Conference Finalist Dallas Stars, at +1000.

The biggest surprise listing is the Devils, who have done enough this offseason in shoring up their back end—adding a new No. 1 goaltender in Jacob Markstrom and two strong defensemen in Brett Pesce and Brenden Dillon—to jump from a team missing the playoffs this past season to having the 4th-best odds at winning it all in 2025, +1100, joined by the Avalanche at +1100.

The New York Rangers, Eastern Conference finalists this year, are tied for 6th-best odds with the Carolina Hurricanes at +1400.

Rounding out the top 10 are the Toronto Maple Leafs (+1500), the Nashville Predators (who lost in the first round this spring, but have also made the leap into the top 10 favourites after some serious moves this offseason by signing Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault and Brady Skjei , at +1600) and the Vegas Golden Knights (+1700).
