Utah HC Sign First-Ever Draft Pick Tij Iginla
As the son of a Hall of Famer, Tij Iginla is already making a name for himself as a 17-year-old, signing an entry-level contract with the Utah Hockey Club. He was selected with the 6th pick overall in last month's NHL Draft.

It's a three-year ELC, worth $877,500 at the NHL level, with a $975,000 cap hit. With performance bonuses, the total value of the contract is $2,925,000.
Iginla put up sensational numbers in junior this past season, recording 47 goals and 37 assists for 84 points in 64 games with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL. He also put up a strong +17 plus/minus rating. In the WHL playoffs, Iginla added 9 goals and 6 assists for 15 points in 11 games.
The son of Hall of Famer Jarome Iginla, Tij did his Dad a few spots better in the Draft, going five spots earlier. Jarome was drafted 11th overall in 1995.
Tij's season was also marked with a Gold Medal with Team Canada at the 2024 IIHF U18 World Junior Championship. He recoreded 12 points in seven games.
