Utah HC Signs Egor Sokolov to One-Year Deal

The Utah Hockey Club has made a move, signing forward Egor Sokolov to a one-year, two-way contract.

Sokolov was acquired by Utah HC from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forward Jan Jenik earlier this month. Now, Sokolov has landed his new deal from Utah and will look to take a big step in his development next season from here.

Sokolov, 24, spent the entirety of the 2023-24 season down in the American Hockey League with the Belleville Senators. In 71 games for the AHL squad, he posted 21 goals to go along with 46 points. Overall, it was a solid season for him, but his production did go down a bit. Back during the 2022-23 season with the club, he had 21 goals to go along with 59 points.

Sokolov will likely be a key offensive contributor down in the AHL next season, as he has been for multiple campaigns now. He also could get some consideration for an NHL call-up from Utah when injuries arise throughout the season.

Sokolov has played in 13 career NHL games thus far, where he has one goal to go along with one assist, four penalty minutes, and a minus-4 rating. Let's see if he gets the chance to build on these career stats with Utah next season from here.
