3 Players Entering Final Season With Los Angeles Kings

The Los Angeles Kings have to find a way to get over the hump and will have to continue changing up their roster to do so. I don't think enough was done to make them good enough to even get out of the first round this season, so more changes and moves will have to be made next offseason. These are the three players who should be playing their final season with the Kings.

David Rittich

David Rittich is one of three goalies who are in the mix in LA this season. He was called up and was effective late last season, but this isn't a realistic long-term option at all. The 31-year-old had a .921 SV% in 24 games, but has a career .904 SV%. He is a backup at very best and the Kings will likely need more than that with Darcy Keumper now one of the other goalies. It is likely the Kings actually try to bring in someone who can compete with Kuemper over a longer stretch of games in order to actually have a chance in net. Rittich is in the last year of his deal and may want a chance as a full-time NHLer again.

Trevor Lewis

Trevor Lewis is on his last legs in the NHL as he is going to turn 38 years old during the season and is a fourth line player at best. His production and ice time dropped a little bit from the season prior and his physicality really took a hit. The prospect pool for the Kings may not be the greatest, but the team will need some room to start bringing some young players up and getting them time. This is the season where Lewis doesn't play a full season because of healthy scratches and potentially retires as a King.

Tanner Jeannot

The Kings brought in Tanner Jeannot after a disappointing season in Tampa Bay. It seems like so long ago when he scored 24 goals in his rookie season as the winger has just managed 13 goals in 131 games since. He is physical, but now has to worry about staying healthy as well. He is a bottom-6 player at best and bringing him in was a chance the Kings took. He is in the final year of his deal and it's likely he doesn't live up to his contract again and LA elects to go younger and with players having more potential.
