3 Players Entering Final Season With Vegas Golden Knights

The Vegas Golden Knights always seem to alter their team the right way and show little loyalty when players don't perform. Whether it's at the trade deadline or after the season, there are going to be changes to the roster. This will allow for better upgrades next offseason and to potentially pay some of the current players.

Ilya Samsonov

The Golden Knights have Adin Hill and Ilya Samsonov in the final year of their deal. Samsonov just signed, but Hill helped win the Stanley Cup in Vegas two years ago. Hill has issues staying healthy, so Samsonov should be useful this season, except he did have some major struggles last season that got him sent to the AHL. Logically, the Golden Knights will try to re-sign Hill again as his numbers have still been good, but the team also has Akira Schmid ready to be called up in the near future.

Victor Olofsson

Victor Olofsson was signed for cheap to make up for some of the offense the Golden Knights are losing with Jonathan Marchessault leaving. The offense won't match and Olofsson hasn't been in a place to succeed recently. He should get a better shot this season with Vegas, but one way or another, he should leave. Olofsson will either play better than what he's being paid and want more on his next contract or won't be worth keeping around.

Brayden McNabb

Brayden McNabb has done some great work for the Golden Knights over the years, but he is heading into the final year of his deal. The Golden Knights have a formidable third pairing with Zach Whitecloud and Nic Hague, but one of them can move up and save some money to be used elsewhere. Shea Theodore needs a new contract and a raise as well. McNabb is older now, so unless he takes a sizeable pay cut from what he's worth, he'll probably sign elsewhere next offseason.
