2 Players Entering Final Season With Boston Bruins
The Boston Bruins just won't go away as the team surprised last season again following low expectations after some big losses. Now the team has recouped some talent and is looking to make the playoffs again, but there will be some battles for playing time. Not everyone is going to return the following season, so we take a look at two who likely won't.
Patrick Brown
The Bruins have a number of depth pieces that will be looking for more playing time, especially some younger players. There is a bit of opportunity for some to step up and that means someone like Patrick Brown, who's 32 and in the last year of his deal, will likely be left in the dust a bit. He may get a decent amount of playing time, but unless he really impresses, he is fairly easily replaceable in the Bruins lineup.
Parker Wotherspoon
The Bruins made some changes defensively this offseason and some of the young talent will be looking for even more playing time. This likely means Wotherspoon, who only played 41 games last season and will probably serve as the 7th defensemen most of the season, is the odd man out. He is a fine depth d-man, but in the last year of his deal, I wouldn't doubt he goes elsewhere in search of more stable playing time.
