Boston Bruins' RFA Jeremy Swayman still waiting on a new contract

The Boston Bruins traded away Linus Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators this summer, cementing Jeremy Swayman as the team's number one goaltender moving forward. The only problem, he's a restricted free-agent and still without a contract for next season.

Swayman is covering off a strong season in Boston. He posted a 25-10-8 record along with a 2.53 GAA and .916 save percentage during the regular season and stayed strong in the playoffs, posting a .933 Sv.% in 13 appearances. He made $3.48 million against the cap last season and is looking for something long-term, now that he's been handed the keys to the crease.

Swayman recently spoke with NESN and reiterated that he's not overly concerned about the process.

There's a lot of confidence (it'll get done). I say that because I've treated it like business as usual this year. ... I've been working out with our guys, our staff, our players, and I know that there's something special building in this locker room this year. I can't be more excited about that. I know that it'll take care of itself with time, and all I can do is control how I'm gonna be a better goalie for the Boston Bruins this year. That's all I'm focused on. It'll work out. I couldn't be happier to be a Bruin.

The Bruins added Joonas Korpisalo in the Ullmark deal and insert another veteran backup to play alongside Swayman, however don't expect to see a 50/50 split of playing time like we saw in the past in Boston. Swayman will be the man and he's excited for a chance to prove he can be than a strong tandem partner. Swayman's excited about what's to come from the Bruins.

There's a ton of momentum building in our locker room now. ... I know that everyone that's gonna come in this locker room is going to embrace the culture that we've built. There's a lot of great things to come.

The Bruins currently have $8.6 million in cap space with training camps only a month away.
