Maple Leafs Rumors: 2 More Names Linked To Toronto

The Toronto Maple Leafs are exploring ways to strengthen their left-wing depth as uncertainty lingers around Nick Robertson's future with the team.

Robertson, who has requested a trade and remains unsigned as a restricted free agent, was initially viewed as a potential middle-six contributor.

However, his unsettled status has prompted the Leafs to consider external options. According to Luke Fox of Sportsnet, two veteran names have recently been mentioned as possible targets for the Maple Leafs: Matt Martin and Mike Hoffman.

Matt Martin, a former Leaf and fan favorite, is known for his physical play and leadership, qualities that could add valuable grit and experience to Toronto's lineup.

His close ties with key players like Mitch Marner further bolster his appeal as a potential addition. On the other hand, Mike Hoffman, an experienced scorer, could provide the offensive depth the Leafs need, especially after losing Tyler Bertuzzi in free agency.

Hoffman's scoring ability and power-play presence make him a viable candidate to fill the void left on the left wing.

Last season, the 35-year-old Martin recorded four goals, eight total points, and 151 hits across 57 games played.

The 34-year-old Hoffman put up 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 total points across 66 games played with the San Jose Sharks.
