He bailed out the Vancouver Canucks big-time in the playoffs last season after starter Thatcher Demko went down to injury in the first game of the opening-round series. But now, according to a new report, Arturs Silovs is joining Demko in the ranks of the walking wounded for the Canucks.
Patrick Johnson of the Vancouver Province has revealed this news out of Lavia:

Sākotnēji turnīram bija plānots pieteikt vārtsargu Artūru Šilovu, kuram, diemžēl, neizdevās pietiekami ātri atlabt no ceļgala saites iekaisuma, kas liedz piedalīties turnīra spēlēs ar maksimālu atdevi.
“Initially, it was planned to register goalkeeper Artūrs Šilovs for the tournament, who, unfortunately, did not manage to recover quickly enough from knee ligament inflammation, which prevents him from participating in the tournament games with maximum performance."
Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal has reported that the Latvian coach assures that Silovs will be at training camp with the Canucks and healthy. Fingers crossed for Vancouver fans.
