New Jersey Devils: 2 Bounce-Back Candidates for Next Season

Each year, we see players around the NHL bounce back from rough seasons. The 2024-25 campaign should offer more of the same, so in this latest series for NHL Trade Rumors, we will take a look at a few bounce-back candidates from every NHL club.

In this latest edition of the series, we will be looking at the New Jersey Devils.

Ondrej Palat: Ondrej Palat is one of the Devils' clear bounce-back candidates heading into the 2024-25 season. The veteran winger is notably coming off a down season with the Devils, as he had 11 goals to go along with 31 points in 71 games. Yet, when looking at his success with the Tampa Bay Lightning, one should not rule out the possibility of him turning things around. From 2019-20 to 2021-22, he had at least 15 goals and 41 points in each of them. Thus, we could see his offense get back up next campaign.

Jonas Siegenthaler: Jonas Siegenthaler will look to turn things back around next season with the Devils. After posting four goals, 21 points, and a plus-27 rating in 80 games for the club in his excellent 2022-23 season, he struggled mightily this past season. In 57 games for the Devils last season, he had one goal, nine points, and a minus-7 rating. He will now look to regain his previous form and once again be a critical shutdown defender for the Devils.
