NHL Network Reveals Top 10 Goalies Ranking In NHL for 2024-25
The finalists for the Vezina Trophy this past season were Sergei Bobrovsky, the eventual Stanley Cup-winning goaltender for the Florida Panthers, Thatcher Demko of the Vancouver Canucks, and Connor Hellebuyck of the Winnipeg Jets.
But when the NHL Network revealed its Top 10 Goaltenders list heading into the 2024-25 season, it was none of those three who took the top spot. In fact, only one of them made the top 3.

Igor Shesterkin of the New York Rangers tops the new list, and rumors abound that a forthcoming contract extension will also, fittingly, make him the highest-paid netminder in the NHL. The 28-year-old has one Vezina Trophy under his belt, from 2022, and posted a .912 save percentage and 2.58 goals against average this past season with the Blueshirts, leading them to the top record in the league, and the Presidents Trophy.
The Rangers netminder toppled Andrei Vasilevskiy from the top spot, a perch he held on the NHL Network list for the previous five consecutive seasons.
The rest of the Top 10 looks like this, with the No. 2 spot held by the backstop who did win the Vezina this season.
- Igor Shesterkin, NY Rangers
- Connor Hellebuyck, Winnipeg Jets
- Andrei Vasilevskiy, Tampa Bay Lightning
- Jeremy Swayman, Boston Bruins
- Ilya Sorokin, NY Islanders
- Thatcher Demko, Vancouver Canucks
- Sergei Bobrovsky, Florida Panthers
- Jake Oettinger, Dallas Stars
- Juuse Saros, Nashville Predators
- Linus Ullmark, Ottawa Senators
