NHL Trade Rumors: Flyers & Sabres Linked To Trade
Farabee, a 24-year-old winger with two 20-goal seasons to his name, including a career-high 22 goals and 50 points last season, has resurfaced in trade rumors.
With $8.4 million in cap space and a deep pool of prospects, the Sabres are in a position to make a bold move, and Farabee’s scoring touch and versatility could be an appealing addition to Buffalo’s lineup.
However, the Flyers, who are in the midst of a rebuild, have not shown a strong inclination to part with the young forward.

Lyle Richardson of Bleacher Report has weighed in on the speculation, acknowledging that Farabee could be a good fit for the Sabres, particularly on a line with Dylan Cozens and Jack Quinn.
However, he also highlighted significant concerns that could hinder a potential trade. Chief among them is Farabee’s past surgery for artificial disc replacement, the same procedure that led to Jack Eichel’s contentious exit from Buffalo in 2021.
Given this history, the Sabres’ management might be hesitant to take on a player with similar health concerns, despite his proven scoring ability.

Ultimately, while the Sabres have the cap flexibility and assets to pursue Farabee, Richardson believes the trade remains unlikely unless the Flyers are willing to move him and the Sabres are confident in his long-term health.
The Sabres' offseason moves, including the addition of Jason Zucker and Sam Lafferty, may reduce the urgency to add another forward, but the rumors persist as the team continues to explore ways to bolster their roster.
