Philadelphia Flyers: 2 Bounce-Back Candidates for Next Season

Each year, we see players around the NHL bounce back from rough seasons. The 2024-25 campaign should offer more of the same, so in this latest series for NHL Trade Rumors, we will take a look at a few bounce-back candidates from every NHL club.

In this latest edition of the series, we will focus on the Philadelphia Flyers.

Sean Couturier: The 2023-24 season was a tough one for Sean Couturier. In 74 games on the year, the veteran center posted 11 goals, 38 points, and a minus-10 rating. He was also notably scratched by head coach John Tortorella. Now, Couturier will look to turn things back around next season and prove that he can still be an impactful top-six forward. When looking at his past success, he certainly has the potential to do just that.

Noah Cates: After posting 13 goals to go along with 38 points in 82 games for the Flyers during the 2022-23, the expectation was that Noah Cates would continue to improve on his offense in 2023-24. However, the 25-year-old took a step in the wrong direction last season, as he recorded just six goals and 18 points in 59 games. Yet, when looking at how successful his first full season with the Flyers went, the possibility of a bounce-back season from him is there.
