Pittsburgh Penguins: 2 Bounce-Back Candidates for Next Season
Each year, we see players around the NHL bounce back from rough seasons. The 2024-25 campaign should offer more of the same, so in this latest series for NHL Trade Rumors, we will take a look at a few bounce-back candidates from every NHL club.
In this latest edition of the series, we will take a look at the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Tristan Jarry: The 2023-24 season was a tough one for Tristan Jarry. In 51 appearances for the Penguins, he posted a 19-25-5 record, a 2.91 GAA, and a .903 SV%. Due to his struggles, he lost the starting job for the Penguins at the end of the season. While it was a disappointing season for the Surrey, British Columbia native, he has the potential to bounce back when looking at his past campaigns in the NHL. He will certainly need to if he hopes to be the Penguins' true starter again.
Rickard Rakell: Rickard Rakell had a disappointing season for his standards during the 2023-24 campaign. In 70 games, he had 15 goals to go along with 37 points in 70 games. When noting that he had 28 goals and 60 points just back during the 2022-23 season, there is reason to believe that his offense could jump back up next season.
