Predators Rumors: Philip Tomasino Becoming Trade Candidate
Philip Tomasino is emerging as a prominent trade candidate for the Nashville Predators, according to Alex Daugherty of The Tennessean.
Following an aggressive offseason spending spree led by GM Barry Trotz, the Predators bolstered their roster with veteran players Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault, and Brady Skjei.
While these additions significantly enhance the team's outlook for the 2024-25 season, they have also pushed younger prospects like Tomasino to the sidelines.

Despite a respectable rookie season and impressive AHL stats, Tomasino has struggled to secure a consistent role in Nashville's lineup.
Head coach Andrew Brunette's emphasis on a "relentless" team identity has further complicated Tomasino's situation.
Brunette has publicly stated that Tomasino needs to prioritize effort over skill to fit into the team's mindset, a challenge the young forward has yet to meet to the coach's satisfaction.
This apparent lack of confidence in Tomasino, coupled with the influx of new talent, has led to speculation that he might be on the move.
Over his three-year career, the 23-year-old has recorded 23 goals and 47 assists for 70 total points across 148 games played.
Although the Predators submitted a qualifying offer to retain his rights, Tomasino remains unsigned for the upcoming season, increasing the likelihood of a trade.

With limited cap space of just $595K for the 2024-25 season and 20 active roster players under contract, the Predators are in a tight financial situation.
Tomasino could start the season with the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals if he accepts the qualifying offer, but a trade seems increasingly likely.
His potential to flourish with another team could make him an attractive option for clubs looking to add young talent with NHL experience, potentially marking the end of his time in Nashville as the Predators balance their veteran-heavy roster.
Tomasino was the Predators' first-round pick (24th overall) in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
