St. Louis Blues: 3 Breakout Candidates for Next Season

With each season that passes, it seems that every NHL team has at least one player break out and become a crucial part of their roster. The 2024-25 season should offer more of the same, so we here at NHL Trade Rumors will be looking at a few breakout candidates from each NHL club heading into the new campaign.

In this latest edition of the series, we will take a look at the St. Louis Blues.

Jake Neighbours: After posting six goals and 10 points in 43 games with the Blues in 2022-23, Neighbours significantly improved his offense in 2023-24. In 77 games on the year, the 2020 first-round pick had 27 goals and 38 points. The 22-year-old clearly can put the puck in the net, and he has a real chance of getting his numbers even higher in 2024-25 and cementing himself as a true top-six forward because of it.

Philip Broberg: Philip Broberg finally got the change of scenery he was hoping for when the Edmonton Oilers did not match the Blues' offer sheet for him. Now, the 2019 first-round pick will look to break out in a big way for the Blues from here. The 23-year-old is coming off a solid postseason, posting two goals, three points, and a plus-8 rating in 10 games. It will now be interesting to see what he can do with the Blues in a top-four role.

Dylan Holloway: Dylan Holloway also has a real chance of taking another step forward in his development in St. Louis. The 22-year-old has the tools to be an impactful power forward, and it will be interesting to see what kind of year he has in his first season as a Blue.
