Tampa Bay Lightning: 3 Breakout Candidates for Next Season

With each season that passes, it seems that every NHL team has at least one player break out and become a crucial part of their roster. The 2024-25 season should offer more of the same, so we here at NHL Trade Rumors will be looking at a few breakout candidates from each NHL club heading into the new campaign.

In this latest edition of the series, we will focus on the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Michael Eyssimont: Michael Eyssimont became a key contributor to the Lightning's roster this past season. In 81 games, he posted new career highs with 11 goals, 14 assists, 25 points, and 135 hits. Overall, it was a strong season for the gritty winger, and he certainly has the potential to take another step forward in 2024-25. He is expected to have a top-nine role and could flirt with his first 20-goal season if he stays healthy.

J.J. Moser: The Lightning made a big move earlier this offseason when they traded Mikhail Sergachev to Utah HC. One of the main pieces they got back in the move was J.J. Moser. The 24-year-old had a strong three-year stint with the Arizona Coyotes, but he could hit a new level with the Lightning playing with their superstars.

Conor Geekie: Conor Geekie is also a player to watch this upcoming season. The 20-year-old could make a real case for himself to make their NHL roster with a strong camp. When noting that he had 43 goals and 99 points in 55 WHL games this past season, he certainly has a lot of promise.
