Vegas Golden Knights: 3 Breakout Candidates for Next Season

With each season that passes, it seems that every NHL team has at least one player break out and become a crucial part of their roster. The 2024-25 season should offer more of the same, so we here at NHL Trade Rumors will be looking at three breakout candidates from each NHL club heading into the new campaign.

In this latest edition of the series, we will focus on the Vegas Golden Knights.

Pavel Dorofeyev: Pavel Dorofeyev is a prime breakout candidate for the Golden Knights heading into the 2024-25 season. The 23-year-old showed great promise last season, recording 13 goals and 24 points in 47 games. Heading into next season, Dorofeyev has a real shot of playing top-six minutes due to the Golden Knights' several departures. Thus, the 6-foot-1 winger could hit a new level.

Brendan Brisson: Brendan Brisson got his first taste of NHL action last season and did pretty well. In 15 games with Vegas, he had two goals and eight points. It was a good first step for the 2020 first-round pick, and he is expected to be on their opening night roster. Thus, the 22-year-old has a golden chance to break out in 2024-25.

Alexander Holtz: The Golden Knights acquired former top prospect Alexander Holtz from the New Jersey Devils earlier this summer. The change of scenery was needed for the 2020 seventh-overall pick, and now he will look to break out in Vegas. He should get plenty of opportunity to, and it will be interesting to see if this is the year where he takes that next step and becomes a true top-six winger.
