Pearson, 32, spent this past season as a member of the Montreal Canadiens, where he had five goals to go along with 13 points and a minus-12 rating in 54 games. Overall, it was a down year for the Kitchener, Ontario native, but he will now look to earn a contract with the Golden Knights through a strong training camp.
While Pearson had a bit of a shaky year with the Canadiens, his past success and experience make him a very intriguing PTO addition for the Golden Knights. Throughout much of his career, Pearson was a serviceable middle-six winger. For example, back during the 2021-22 season with the Vancouver Canucks, he had 14 goals and 34 points in 68 games.
When noting that the Golden Knights lost multiple forwards this offseason, there is no harm in them taking a look at Pearson on a PTO. If he impresses during the preseason, he could earn himself a cheap one-year deal from the Golden Knights. Let's see what happens on that front from here.
