3 New Jersey Devils Prospects Expected To Get NHL Playing Time In 2024-25

With some of the top prospects having graduated to the NHL recently, the Devils are relatively dry and don't have a ton of top talent coming. This won't stop some of the most NHL-ready prospects from pushing through given an opportunity. Let's take a closer look at three of the Devils prospects who are expected to get some NHL playing time this season.

Adam Beckman

Adam Beckman is starting his first season in New Jersey's organization after spending the last four with the Minnesota Wild. He has had no trouble scoring goals and putting up points in the AHL and has gotten a chance in the NHL for a handful of games in each of the past three seasons. Beckman has played 23 games in the NHL and recorded just three assists, but is also 23 years old and there isn't a ton of talent on their way at forward in the organization. If a couple of injuries occur, he will get his shot for a fourth season in a row, especially if he is playing well in the AHL once again.

Nolan Foote

As far as prospects go, Nolan Foote is on the older side as well. He will turn 24 this year, but has gotten a little NHL experience in each of the past four seasons, albeit short. He has played 4-7 games each season since 2020-21 and scored at least one goal each season. He has produced in the AHL each of the seasons as well. I am banking on Foote being the first called up if he doesn't make the team out of training camp this season.

Topias Vilen

Topias Vilen had a good first season in the AHL, putting up 29 points in 54 games. He is not yet ready to be a full-time NHLer, but might earn himself a shot by the end of the season. He has been developing well and does have some good professional experience from his time in Liiga. His shot and skating are his top attributes and may allow him to stand out. If anything, it will be an end of the season NHL debut. If injuries take hold of the back-end and he's forced into a role sooner than expected. There are already some health concerns on the back-end.
