3 New York Rangers Prospects Expected To Get NHL Playing Time In 2024-25

The New York Rangers are once again going to be a top team in the NHL and they also happen to have some very good prospects on their way. While some won't make their NHL debuts just yet, there are three that should at least get some playing time this season in New York.

Brennan Othmann

Brennan Othmann showed a lot of talent in his first AHL season, earning him a three game look in the NHL. He scored 21 goals and 49 points in 67 games and if he can even come close to replicating that, never mind doing better with another year of development, he is going to get a longer look than just three games.

Brett Berard

Brett Bedard is a former fifth round pick that has really popped. In his first AHL season in 2023-24, the small winger scored 25 goals and 48 points in 71 games. He works really hard and impressed. That didn't get him NHL games yet, but that has to be coming this season. He is very good around the net and since he can score, that would really boost the bottom-6 for the Rangers if there's an injury or the team is looking for a bit of a change.

Dylan Garand

Dyland Garand is the next in line in net for the Rangers, but hasn't put up great numbers in the AHL just yet. He has played two full seasons, finishing with a .894 SV% and a .898 SV%. He was called up to the Rangers last season, but didn't get any playing time. If there is an injury or either of New York's two goalies miss time, he should be the first to be called up again. Maybe his numbers will be different in the NHL with a high-end team in front of him. At some point, Garand does need to show what he can do at the NHL level so the Rangers know what to do moving forward with him.
