3 Potential Trade Destinations for Islanders' Brock Nelson

New York Islanders forward Brock Nelson has created some chatter as a potential trade candidate heading into the 2024-25 season. It is understandable, as he is entering the final season of his contract, and he would be a valuable trade chip for the Islanders if they are not a guaranteed playoff team nearing the deadline. Because of this, let's go over three clubs that could target him if he is officially made available.

Utah Hockey Club: The Utah Hockey Club has not been afraid to make splashes, and it would not be shocking if this carried over to the regular season. When looking at their forward group, it is fair to argue that they could use one more scoring forward in their top six. Nelson would give them that, so they could be a club to watch in the Nelson sweepstakes.

Colorado Avalanche: The Colorado Avalanche have been connected to Nelson in the past, so it would not be particularly surprising if they targeted him this season. There is no question that would benefit by adding another top-six forward to their group, and Nelson would surely provide them with some much-needed scoring.

Buffalo Sabres: It is no secret that the Buffalo Sabres want to add to their top six. They did not land any big-name free agents or trade candidates this summer to fix this issue. Thus, if Nelson is made available, the Sabres would likely make a big push for him. They have the cap space and assets to make a potential trade come to fruition.
