3 Vegas Golden Knights Prospects Expected To Get NHL Playing Time In 2024-25

The Vegas Golden Knights need some help from some of the youth this season after losing more talent in the offseason. As a team that has been good since their inception, it has been tough to get a really good prospect pool. Regardless, there have been some hits and some young players on their way to the NHL.

Brendan Brisson

The Golden Knights got a good glimpse of Brendan Brisson last season in 15 games where he scored two goals and eight points. The late first-round pick from 2020 will be a full-time member of the team this season after also scoring 19 goals and 38 points in 52 games in the AHL. He should get a top-9 role on the wing where he can best thrive offensively. The Golden Knights are not only going to see a lot of him this season, but need him to contribute.

Lukas Cormier

In the same 2020 draft, the Golden Knights selected Lukas Cormier in the third round. He finally got into some action in the NHL last season, but only saw two games. The 22-year-old recorded one assist and there is a lot of hope that his offense will come into play for Vegas sooner rather than later. He is more of an offense-first d-man, but performed well defensively, giving the Golden Knights hope on that end. There is a very good defensive group in Vegas, but expect Cormier to get a little better look in the NHL at some point this season.

Grigori Denisenko

Though 24 years old, Grigori Denisenko could still be considered a prospect. He has only played 31 NHL games and has only recorded seven assists, but his offensive numbers in the AHL are excellent. Last season he put up 20 goals and 56 points in 62 games. Even though he has struggled in limited NHL action in a fourth line role, there is no reason to not give him another chance as he lights up the AHL.
