Bryan Little Signing One-Day Deal to Retire With Winnipeg Jets

The Winnipeg Jets have announced that Bryan Little will sign a one-day contract to officially retire as a member of the organization.

Little, 36, spent the entirety of his playing career as a member of the Atlanta Thrashers/Winnipeg Jets organization after being drafted 12th overall during the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. In 843 career NHL games over 13 seasons, he posted 217 goals, 304 assists, and 521 points.

Little's final NHL season was back during the 2019-20 campaign. During that season, he was limited to just seven games, where he had two goals, five points, and a plus-4 rating. His season came to an end after he got hit in the side of the head with a puck. He returned to practice during the season, but he was advised not to return to game action.

Little's contract was traded to the Arizona Coyotes along with Nathan Smith during the 2021-22 season for a fourth-round pick. Due to injury, he never played a game with the Coyotes.

Nevertheless, this is a good gesture by the Jets. Little was a very important part of their franchise and put together a strong career. It is a shame that his playing days came to an end earlier than expected, but he will now get the chance to go out as an official member of the Jets.
