Ducks Reveal Big Injury Update on #3 Overall Pick Beckett Sennecke

The Anaheim Ducks got some bad news one week ago on the status of No. 3 overall 2024 Draft pick Beckett Sennecke. He would be out six-to-eight weeks with a fractured foot, they told us. But Thursday, the team revealed a very positive update, and Bennecke's timeline for a return to the ice has been almost cut in half.

Sennecke is now out of his walking boot and the updated timeline for a return is now just two-to-four weeks, and, according to Ducks beat writer Derek Lee, the 18-year-old could even potentially play in some preseason games for the team before camp is out. The original timeline would have possibly had him out until November.

This is great news for Sennecke, who should still now get a full season in, likely back with the Oshawa Generals of the OHL. Last year in junior, he recorded 27 goals and 68 points in 63 games, with a plus/minus rating of +33. He was even more dynamic in the playoffs with the Generals, as he found the net 10 times and added 12 assists for 22 points in 16 games.

Sennecke was a surprise pick at #3, soaring up the draft board after he came in to the proceedings with hopes of maybe being a surprise top 10 pick.
