Dylan Guenther Set To Sign Huge Extension in Utah

The Utah Hockey Club isn't wasting any time in locking up promising youngster Dylan Guenther, as according to insider Elliotte Friedman, they are about to agree on a huge eight-year extension worth more than $7 million annually.

Guenther was the No. 9 overall selection in the 2021 NHL Draft, and in his second season with the Arizona Coyotes last year, posted 18 goals and 35 points in 45 games, showing his vast potential with a 32-goal pace.

The 21-year-old skilled sniper is about to enter the third and final year of his entry-level contract at $894,000, but is now about to become a very wealthy young man beginning in the 2025-26 season.

He began last season with the Coyotes' AHL affiliate, the Tucson Roadrunners, and showed he was ready for the big time, with 10 goals and 28 points in 29 games, with a plus/minus rating of +5. He was called up to the NHL in January, took the league by storm and never looked back.

Guenther had a sensational junior career, helping lead two different teams to WHL championships.

The Utah Hockey Club makes a big splash, locking up an exciting young key piece of the future on what should be an incredibly team-friendly deal in years to come.
